This project is a playful response to the brief "package yourself as a food item." Inspired by the sweet and salty contrast of caramel popcorn, I've created packaging that reflects my personality. It blends my dark humor with a satirical jab at consumerism and the excessive packaging as a result of modern marketing.

This project is a playful response to the brief "package yourself as a food item." Inspired by the sweet and salty contrast of caramel popcorn, I've created packaging that reflects my personality. It blends my dark humor with a satirical jab at consumerism and the excessive packaging as a result of modern marketing.

A Touch of (Dark) Humour
The caramel popcorn packaging employs satire through exaggerated packaging and sarcastic messaging on the package itself. Phrases like 100% not eco-friendly and the short note on the side of the packaging that reads “These morsels of joy may be light on your tongue, but they're heavy on the planet! From farm to factory, every step of this sugary indulgence leaves a huge carbon footrprint” and “This excessive packaging, lovingly crafted from the finest non-recyclables, ensures your treat arrives with maximum environmental impact” add a touch of humour to the over-the-top packaging.

Illustration Style
The packaging features vibrant illustrations in an Indian color palette. These illustrations depict the raw materials used, showcasing sugarcane stalks, corn kernels, and even the corn plant itself, all reimagined with an Indian aesthetic.
Overall Tone
This project aims to be humorous and lighthearted, prompting consumers to question the environmental cost of excessive packaging through gentle satire.
